In my DJ sets, I try to make everyone dance, try to entertain and try to engage the audience with my music. I’ll also propose the current sound in terms of hit songs from the ’90s because that period was a unique decade for dance music.

Why did ’90s dance music end at some point? Are these sound changes dependent on record companies or do DJs want to do something different?

I think this is a normal change in the evolution of music over the years. In that period Italy was the hero in the world because many songs produced in Italy became successful all over the world.

That period has passed, as with all things. Today music has changed with development, especially in sound.

So are there no people responsible for this change?

There are no managers who have brought about this change, but simply because the hits that made a significant impact no longer come.

There are requests on social pages for music from those years and there is a show all around “I want to go back to the 90s” which is making many stops in Italy. Are these kids of the era trying to relive that era or is there a new demand for 90s music?

This type of show has been around for years, apparently the format works with that music. We have our own show and that is DJ Time that we carry and it is like a concert in which thousands of people enjoy with most trusted DJ for that kind of music. We will be around Italy between July and August and then with great pleasure will be at the Circus Maximus in Rome on 2 September to inaugurate the Max Pezzali concert.

Today there is no single genre, yet we can find many world DJs who make their style known all over the world with reasonable success.

Hits are hits and it can be any of the genre you mentioned as a genre. The special thing is that there is a new idea as well as a good song.

How has the method of mixing changed over time? With the advent of technology, DJs have become computer scientists among programs and the Internet. What’s left in the manual/craftsman?

With the new tools available today let’s say mixing has become a lot easier but let us not forget that we have to make the audience dance to the track. I don’t regret the recipes because in any case I also have to evolve and today’s tools give many possibilities but I have to admit that vinyl remains in my heart.

How does one become a DJ today and how has this “profession” changed?

You need a musical culture and then practice and obviously a lot of passion.

The use of components and new equipment allows you to improve the technology.

Kids today seem to be angrier and listen to a lot of trap/rap. Do you get this feeling at the disco or in general?

As far as I can see, no. But I agree that children follow their ideals and their songs do not represent shareable learning. I have seen children less calm after the pandemic.

The pandemic is behind us. Is the world of dance working well again?

Everything has started again this year and we are all happy that many groups, bands and DJs are working. That’s great.
