Elderly cases: The doctor on duty asked to extend the statement time

chief prosecutor, Maria Bottini, Speaking to Radio Nacional, he confirmed that the doctor on duty who made the complaint had asked to expand the scope of his statement to the events leading up to the deaths of two elderly residents of a local nursing home who died while on duty at the Esquel area. Hospital.

The investigation is focusing on the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two elderly women who were moved to hospital wards after developing health problems. Duty Supervisory Prosecutor Martín Robertson described these deaths as a complaint made by a doctor who had tragically lost the lives of four elderly people in the families involved in the past two weeks.

The prosecutor’s office is awaiting the medical examiner’s report, which is expected to reveal the exact cause of the deaths and the circumstances surrounding them.

The doctor who filed the initial complaint decided to ask for an extension of time to present his case, which generated greater interest in the case. The health professional raised objections to what he saw as irregularities in the nursing home’s organization and sought to clarify his version of events.

Representatives of the “Manos Unidas Esquel” cooperative that manages the home for the elderly held a press conference a few days ago, in which they spoke about the complaints that prompted the raid at the facility. Miriam, Nancy and Berta Jara, directors of the cooperative, said the affected residents had symptoms of gastroenteritis and had previously been treated by the hospital’s medical and nursing staff. However, over a long weekend they were unable to ensure a doctor was on hand to care for the residents, forcing them to initiate emergency procedures and resort to guards at the regional Esquel hospital. Finally, they publicly blamed and held the doctor on duty responsible for mishandling the situation.
