This is a crazy story – Dominic Wilkins I recently opened a pack of old NBA cards…and luckily, he pulled out his own rookie card!
The whole thing was caught on video… as Eagles legend joins OTIA Sports CEO Jason Coons Breaking through a batch of unopened 1986 Fleer basketball cards in hopes of finding one Michael Jordan The new kid in the bag.
FYI – the ’86 Fleer collection is filled with tons of rookie cards from that era…including MJ, charles buckley, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon And, of course, there’s Dominic Wilkins.
The attraction is pretty cool – Human Highlights recalls playing against several players as the deck was revealed… including big names like magic johnson, Larry Bird and bill walton.
Once Wilkins saw his face, the group began to panic…and Coons swore up and down that the card wasn’t planted.
“This was sealed, this was not planned,” Coons said in the video. “This is crazy.”
“When it comes to my children’s lives, there’s no setting!”
Depending on its condition, this card can be very valuable… some cards in good condition are currently selling online for thousands of dollars!
Sorry you didn’t get to be MJ, Dominic… but you were a very good player too!
