Mazatlan. – Mazatlan City Public Service Units must adjust their routes during the weekend of December 1st to 3rd, especially those along the boardwalk and the Golden Mile. Therefore, on the morning of the upcoming sporting events of the Great Triathlon and Pacific Marathon Mazatlan 2023, it is important to stay alert and avoid accidents or lapses in concentration.

Faustino Mejía Chávez, president of the Mazatlan Urban and Suburban Trucking Union, stressed that from Thursday to Sunday these vehicles will have their circulation adjusted for the triathlon.

During these three days, Avenida del Mar between Gutiérrez Najera and Rotary will be closed to traffic.

Trucks on the Sábalo Centro route will use Cruz Lizárraga Avenue as an alternative route before joining the boardwalk high above the Aquarium.

Mejia Chávez clarified that this was a temporary adjustment and that these alternative routes, covering approximately two neighborhoods, were a measure to promote sporting events.

Road closures for the Great Marathon that will take place on Sunday will begin at 04:00 am.

Tourist units will also modify their traditional routes, since the entire coastal promenade, as well as Camarón Sabalo Avenue leading to Cerritos, part of Rafael Buerna and another part of Leonismo International Close to make way for runners.

Mejia Chavez mentioned that local workers are aware of the impact of closing these roads for sporting events and do not anticipate any inconvenience to traffic.

As for tourists, he pointed out that the heads of accommodation centers must inform them of the road closures, starting on Saturday from Valentinos to Escudo and continuing until Sunday, with the coastal route opening around noon at the end of the holiday. .
