“I’ve always imagined life in one old house in hancock park, and now I live there,” says Justin Tranter on Zoom, a musician and songwriter who has written worldwide hits for many stars. Happy, but without any fear to lay a hand on 1115 square foot home in Los Angeles, Tranter sees real estate as a symbol of a long-term dream, big. “As someone who has had four record deals cancelled, I don’t take my success lightly,” he says. “I don’t take it for granted at all.”

Tranter has been in the music business for almost 20 years.first as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Semi Precious Weapons, then began to write hits for famous pop stars, including Selena Gomez, John Legend and Justin Bieber (Tranter wrote a piece for him I’m sorry, diamond disc, as well as other famous songs). It had been a winding road to the top, but now he always knew he deserved it. “Basically, I was in a very happy, magical period in my life, and my business management team was saying, ‘If you ever wanted a madhouse, now is the time to find one,’ Tranter explains. “And I thought, ‘Let me go have some fun, I want to see the lunatic asylums for a couple of days.’ It was the second house I saw. I thought: “Now I’ll come here to live.”

The house, as Tranter saw it that day, is very similar to today. The impressive building has recently been renovated and redesigned. Brian Little and Natalie Zudin, who restored the home to its original glory. Built in 1914, the house is a Hancock Park classic, namely full of details, luxurious and at the same time hospitable: “It’s just amazing. The crown moldings are about 45 cm deep. You can feel the richness and history of the house.”

Little and Zudin worked meticulously to repurpose the space inside and out, removing most of the molding to reveal historic handrails, doors and panelingwindow refurbishment and gardening. The furniture Tranter bought with the house was either vintage or custom-made: “We tried to create large sofas that were comfortable, deep and welcoming, but we added a nice armrest, wood frame or curved back,” Zudin says. In addition to decor, Zudin and Little hired artists to hand painted wallpaper in some parts of the house.
