
The Art Ludique-Le Musée team, in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures International Italy, presents the “DreamWorks Film Exhibition: Dreams, Magic and Adventure” in Rome from September 24 to October 29 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica by Ennio Morricone. The exhibition, organized by Universal Pictures International Italy, is organized under the patronage of the Department of Major Events, Sports, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome in collaboration with the Musica per Roma Foundation. The prestigious DreamWorks Animation studio, founded by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, opened its doors to the Art Ludique team with the goal of selecting, in collaboration with the studio’s artists, the most extraordinary and representative works. Throughout the exhibition, visitors will discover the unique spirit that characterizes some of the studio’s great masterpieces, and the features that define their identity.
The DreamWorks studio, which includes many cosmopolitan artists, has produced many films that constitute a veritable “world tour of animation” (The Prince of Egypt, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, Little Yeti, etc.). ). Another feature of the studio is that it has a limitless artistic style that uses no recipes or formulas, but uses every possible style that is put at the service of story and storytelling. It is thanks to this that the studio was able to reinterpret the fairy tales and legends of the past in a humorous and poetic form and at the same time give life to modern fairy tales.
The exhibition will feature more than 300 works selected in collaboration with artists from DreamWorks Animation. In addition to historical artwork from the studio, audiences will be able to admire exclusive digital artwork from DreamWorks’ latest productions, including studies for the films Rebel Spirit, Boss Baby 2, The Pity, and Ruby. Gillman – Tentacled Girl and a variety of colorful and impressive artwork created for Puss in Boots 2 – The Last Wish, as well as a large selection of exclusive artwork from Trolls 3 – All Together, some of them also in giant size.
The exhibition will also include exclusive interviews with the creators of Trolls 3: The Sound of Music, including director Walt Dorn, co-director Tim Heitz and producer Gina Shaye, filmed at DreamWorks Studios in Glendale exclusively for the exhibition in Rome. Trolls 3 – All Together, the third chapter of the saga directed by Walt Dohrn, will be shown at Alice nella Città on the occasion of the 21st edition, which will take place from October 18 to 29. The film, whose original version features the voices of Justin Timberlake (Branch) and Anna Kendrick (Poppy), will be dubbed in the Italian version by Stash and Lodovica Comello.
Rounding out the exhibition route will also feature works from DreamWorks films since its inception in 1994, a route that tells the studio’s history, from The Prince of Egypt, Ant and, of course, Shrek, the first film. win the studio an Oscar for animation in 2002.
