“When I went through a difficult moment at the beginning of last year,” says the singer, “ songwriting helped me understand my feelings and accept what’s happening and when I found out about the different situations of my friends, I wrote songs, some from their point of view, some of my own to capture how they and I saw the world at the time. There were high moments of falling in love and new friendships punctuated by deep moments of grief, depression, loneliness and confusion.”

“My father and brother told me about a composer named Elgar.which he composed Puzzle options, in which each of the 14 songs was dedicated to one of his friends. That is what inspired me to create this album. When I signed up Subtract with Aaron Dessner, we immediately hit it off. We wrote and recorded songs non-stop, and from that collaboration, this album was born. I feel like he captured the feeling of autumn so beautifully in his sounds and I hope everyone loves him as much as I do.”
