Ed Sheeran surprises fans at LEGO Store Mall of America

Ed Sheeran’s shift at the LEGO Mall of America Store included box shopping, a singing concert, and a special minifigure giveaway.

Complete with a yellow LEGO office worker apron, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran spent the day working at the LEGO Mall of America signing sets for fans and advising them on what to buy, as shown in this video posted by the LEGO Group. He recommended the LEGO ICONS 10305 Lion Knights Castle to a fan, instead remembering his childhood when he and his brother had a “little wizard set”.

In addition to helping shoppers inside the store, Sheeran has also allowed his other talents to flourish outside the store by putting his guitar on display for those who visit the Mall of America. While we don’t hear what songs he played, we assume LEGO House must have been present.

In addition to signing existing sets, Sheeran was giving away an exclusive minifigure. The elements are quite simple, the only thing that is notable is a specially printed bust with the words “Autumn is coming”. This is a reference to Sheeran’s upcoming new album due out in the fall, which is believed to be titled Autumn Moments – although based on the wording on the minifigure, it might just be Autumn.

“It was a lot of fun,” Sheeran concluded at the end of his day at the LEGO Store Mall of America. “I have a bunch of these ‘Autumn is Coming’ minifigures and will be giving them away at the concert. See you soon!”

At the concert in question, Sheeran performed at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as part of his The Mathematics Tour with a more intimate show at the State Theater beforehand. It’s unclear how many minifigures were given away during the concert, and thousands of people flocked to watch the signer perform.
