Ed Sheeran’s latest super idea is to record an album in fans’ living rooms. The singer-songwriter has been visiting some fans’ homes to improvise at concerts, and took the opportunity to record a live home version of his next album. Autumn variations.
The actual album, in which each song is inspired by his own story or a friend’s story, “the ups and downs, falling in love and friendship, but also broken hearts, depression, loneliness, confusion” (we wrote about it here), will be released on September 29. There is no date for the live version yet: “Coming soon,” writes Sheeran.
In the two posts below, the singer-songwriter is at the home of a clearly emotional fan named Keri. “I performed several surprise concerts in fans’ homes, secretly recording the band’s live album Autumn variations where every song was recorded in a fan’s living room,” Sheeran writes. “At the end of the day we arrived at Kari Conaway’s house and immediately knew it was going to be fun. There were cats, friendship bracelets and fruit juice, and after playing Autumn I asked to be taken to visit the house. When I entered his room, I saw a piano. She asked me if I could act and I said, “Not really, but I’ll try.” Wake me up“”.
How to say? I hope it’s a homemade version. Autumn it doesn’t sound like this:
