dDuring the administration of Governor Alfredo del Maso Massa, the fundamental task of promoting preventive medicine was to protect the well-being of the people, which is why since 2017, this work has been promoted to meet the demand for services; however, in 2020 and 2021, attention to the COVID-19 pandemic is a top priority.
During the six years of the government, the health sector has faced challenges such as caring for more than 9 million Mexicans without social security, which has required the tireless efforts of the medical and administrative staff of the Mexican state health system. Today, this number totals 50,000 from medical, More than 60,000 personnel in nursing, laboratories, brigades, paramedics, technical primary care personnel (TAPS) and support staff have been recognized by society for their intense work during the most difficult moments of the epidemic.

Thanks to their courage and commitment in the face of the health emergency, medical, nursing and support staff have provided care and assistance to more than 700,000 Mexicans infected with the coronavirus.
During the strategy to deal with the epidemic, intensive work was carried out, including the renovation of 58 hospitals, 25 of which belonged to the Institute of Health of the State of Mexico (ISEM), and 35 were applied through the efforts of health professionals. The production of 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines was achieved, thus placing the entity first in the country in this field, protecting 90% of the population over 18 years of age.

To this end, starting in 2019, the “Stronger, healthier families and better health services” program was launched, which is an important legacy of this government.
As part of the commitment to improve health services and the well-being of Mexican families, strengthening the infrastructure of the health sector in the State of Mexico has been prioritized over six years, and 960 health centers have been renovated to this end. The Mexican entity has 1,221 medical units, as that is where preventive medicine and health promotion programs are implemented.
The “For Your Health” community days have also been strengthened, the aim of which is to provide free medical services to Mexican communities and neighborhoods to restore first-level care, prevent and promptly detect various diseases, and to work with, to date, 19 health The jurisdiction held more than 3,000 meetings, benefiting more than 284,000 Mexicans.

Likewise, universal vaccination has been strengthened to promote and improve programs against immunization-preventable diseases, with more than 47 million doses of various biological vaccines administered to children under five years of age during this administration. This helped reduce infant mortality by nearly 32%.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns about mental health have become important and public policies have been strengthened to guarantee the timely delivery of health services to those in need of specialized care, resulting in the implementation of new models. The Health Center for the Prevention of Addiction and Mood Disorders has established 73 teams, supported by 381 professionals, and has provided more than 361,000 psychological consultations and more than 46,000 psychiatric consultations.
To address this challenge, more than 17,000 health professionals, psychologists and caregivers were trained in mhGAP and Code 100 courses in the timely identification of mental disorders in 2022, placing the state of Mexico first in the country in this area.

At the same time, health care work has also been carried out in depth, and organ and tissue donation work is at the forefront of the country. There are 57 existing and authorized donation institutions, and there will be 7,259 from 2017 to 2023. A transplant was performed.
In terms of vaccination and sterilization of dogs and cats, more than 795,000 surgical interventions were performed on companion animals, and more than 20 million doses of rabies vaccine were administered.
