Eight nominations for Taylor Swift at the Video Music Awards 2023

ROME (ITALPRESS) — MTV has announced the long-awaited nominees for the 2023 VMAs, a show celebrating the work of artists whose cultural impact has reshaped the music industry over the past 12 months, generating global controversy. Taylor Swift (8) leads this year’s nominations as she aims to repeat her Video of the Year win after setting a record last year by becoming the only female artist to win 3 times in one of the most beloved categories. She is followed by SZA (6), Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo and Sam Smith (5 each), as well as Blackpink, Diddy and Shakira (4 each). This publication boasts a record number of first-time VMA nominations (35 in total), as well as many newcomer nominations such as Kim Petras (5), Metro Boomin and Rema (3 each), Ira Starr, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Peso Pluma, Rene Rapp and Yung Miami (2 each). Other artists nominated for the first time include Aespa, boygenius, Burna Boy, Davido, Eslabon Armado, Fletcher, Fifty Fifty, Jvke, Lauren Spencer Smith, Musa Keys, PinkPantheress, Saucy Santana, Stephen Sanchez and Toosii.
From now until September 1st, fans can vote for their favorite artists in 15 gender-neutral categories, including the all-new Best Afrobeats category, as well as the coveted Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. by visiting voice.mtv.com; Voting for “Best New Artist” will also be active during the show on Tuesday, September 12th. Nominations in social categories, including “Group of the Year” and “Song of the Summer”, will be announced later. “VMA 2023” returns live to over 150 people worldwide from New Jersey’s famed Prudential Center to celebrate the biggest names in music with incredible surprises, one-of-a-kind performances and an audience filled with enthusiastic fans.
In Italy, the show will air live in the original language on the night of September 12-13 starting at 02:00 on MTV (Sky channel 131 and streaming NOW) and MTV Music (Sky channels 132 and 704). A preview is expected starting at 00.30.
