Elizabeth Olsen as assassin Candy Montgomery in the HBO series teaser

First look at Elizabeth Olsen as assassin Candy Montgomery in teaser for HBO true crime series Max Love and Death.

Love and Death: Elizabeth Olsen is the murderess Candy Montgomery in the teaser of the HBO series

After leaving behind (at least for the moment) the role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen is measured with drama, blood and crimes in the teasers of the miniseries true crime HBO Max Love and Death. In the miniseries inspired by her true story, the actress plays Candy Montgomery, a housewife accused of killing the wife of her lover in a small Texas town.

The first trailer for Love and Death shows Elizabeth Olsen accused of 41 axes to her neighbor Betty Gore, wife of her lover Allan Gore, played by Jesse Plemons.

Love and Death will be based on the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs by Jim Atkinson and Joe Bob Briggs and in a series of articles in Texas Monthly. The show’s logline reads, “Two church-going couples enjoy family joys in a small Texas town until someone picks up an axe.”

The cast of Love and Death also includes Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey and Krysten Ritter. The screenplay was written by David E. Kelley, while Lesli Linka Glatter directed all episodes; both produce the miniseries together with Lionsgate. Executive producers include Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick and Helen Verno.

In 2022, Disney+ also revealed the original series Candy: Death in Texas, based on the same 1980s crime and starring Jessica Biel.
