The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated the box office for the last 15 years and helped make comic book characters, but also the actors who play them, even more popular. Many of these gave their soul and above all their body during filming, but there are also those who don’t agree very much with a fundamental aspect of film shooting – such as Elizabeth Olsen.
The interpreter of Wanda Maximoff he has been a regular face from Phase 2 to recently Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – which however he declared he has not yet seen. After the debut in Avengers: Age of Ultronhis character evolved especially when it was time to face the pain of the death of Vision, at the center of both the series Wanda Vision that of the film of Sam Raimi starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
Here Olsen actually plays the villain of the film, willing to do anything to get her beloved back and above all her children, born thanks to her powerful magic. In the film we see her fight and perform many stunts, some of which are the result of her physical effort and others performed by a stunt double, as often happens in the movies. If it were up to her, however, it should always be like this. During a guest appearance on the program of Stephen Colberthe spoke about this.
Actors who do almost all of their own stunts in the Marvel universe are many, but Elizabeth Olsen he would gladly get out of it. She called the feeling of performing those kinds of scenes similar to a roller coaster, which she doesn’t particularly like doing. There are times when she feels she can do certain scenes all day (semi-quote a Captain America), while other times she was a little scared. She recounted:
There’s a scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where they drop me ten meters and land. They wanted me to do it very fast, to make it look like there was a hard impact on the ground, but I still looked like Peter Pan, like I was fencing. And I said: ‘Use the stuntwoman. It’s ridiculous – it’s there for a reason. Just replace the face.’ And they did, they used it (…) It’s a waste of everyone’s timebecause a stunt double does it much better.
From the list of actors who are pulling themselves out of the more physical aspects of this world, but for different reasons, there is obviously also Jeremy Renner. After the terrible accident with the snow plow, the interpreter of Hawkeye is in the process of recovering but has already declared that there will be no problem giving up the action scenes, also given the age that is starting to make itself felt.
As for Olsen, however, it is likely that we will see her again in the Marvel universe. She the actress has stated that she wants more humor and a path of redemption for her character and she is eager to explore those aspects. But don’t talk to her about doing stunts on set…
