HBO Max has streamed the trailer for Love and Deathnew limited series starring an intense Elizabeth Olsen back on the small screen after the success of WandaVision for Disney+. The actress is joined in the cast by Jesse Plemons, Oscar nominee for The power of the dog, and the show will debut in April.
Next to Olsen and Plemons in Love and Death stars Patrick Fugit, Lily Rabe, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey e another Marvel star, namely the interpreter of Jessica Jones, Krysten Ritter. The limited series is produced by Lionsgate Television, with executive producers David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt of Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick and Helen Verno.
Love and Death is based on the true story of Texan housewife Candy Montgomery (played by Olsen), who in 1980 killed her church friend, Betty Gore, with an ax. The series is inspired by the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, as well as a series of articles in Texas Monthly. It is the second television adaptation in a few months of Montgomery’s history, following the Hulu miniseries Candy starring Jessica Biel.

While it’s unclear if Olsen will return to play Wanda Maximoff, Love and Death will debut on HBO Max on April 27, 2023.
