There are two (slightly) hidden behind the Attore Dinamico brand: Emiliano Luccisano and Alessandro Lozzi. But in the shadows is the one who can do anything: Gigi!
At the time of writing, the “project” Facebook page has just under 10,000 followers, and the most successful video has been viewed over 220,000 times, which is certainly reassuring, indicative of growing “organic” popularity (i.e. without buying bogus consents) and obtained in less than 2 years. Behind the work of the two speakers, there is certainly a lot of attention, even to details, and, above all, knowledge from the acting world, mainly from Capital.
Emiliano, in the funniest videos, mimics an unlikely phone call with “Gigi” or “Gigi” (the name is inflected in both directions, but the result is the same), which is not a “Crémeria” call, but is another very much more famous Luigi of the Italian showbiz. and together they give life to bright satirical insights, sometimes very bitter, about everything that revolves around acting. Envy of those who have done it, the desire to prove oneself at any cost, in some cases a pretentious and childish attitude, ideally corresponding to the “Recommendation” episode of the film “Monsters” (1963, Dino Risi), coexist with common views on the profession – because this is what what it is about – which is constantly underestimated when not opposed and relegated to the corner of the cultural attention of the country.
Emiliano Luccisano (Author/Director/Actor) and Alessandro Lozzi (Musician/Video Maker/Web Specialist) skillfully mock, for example, the casting of “important shows” (important only for those who do it) or stubbornness – all in Italian – wanting a well-known “name” for theatrical productions, possibly television ones, to attract more audiences to the theaters (the only cheap ones with a “name” are completely redone actors because their fictions were so bad that they don’t want to be recognized), or – and here they are truly invincible – when, with figurines in their hands from a hypothetical collection of 10,000 euros (1000 spectators at 10 euros for admission), take this and take that away, the unfortunate actor remains in his pocket as much as 28.95 euros!
Then we have acting techniques (the Stanislavsky method, which everyone knows how to say, but nobody knows how to spell – we also checked before reporting it correctly in the article, note poster) and the question of questions, which usually asks elderly grandmother “Who do you work for?”, The question is so fundamental that it was even divided into 4 parts so that the answer was as exhaustive as possible.
What emerges from the dozens and dozens of videos published is certainly a funny, well-researched and well-written picture (Luccisano is among Dado’s lyricists), but it is also symptomatic of the heavy acceptance of the drift taken by the Italian theatrical entertainment sector, with companies and individuals who increasingly cornered and also at the mercy of risky and impromptu productions that always suddenly disappear before their bills are paid, with bills that are paid months (if not years) late, against a performance delivered on time, forgetting all too often that the actor – to become one – studied, invested in himself and continues to do it night after night, then losing sight of the fact that even those who are on stage have the right to eat regularly. In Edoardo Erba’s Muratori, the theater’s covert closure is staged to expand the supermarket, but the reality isn’t all that far off given that more theaters are closing than opening.
The subtitle of Attore Dinamico is #ilmestierepiùbellodelmondo, but are we sure it is? and are we sure it’s worth it to keep pushing, night after night, script after script, audition after audition? We have a feeling, visiting – respectfully – this Wednesday for several years now, that what “gives” an actor who is passionate and in love with his work is that small and resounding last tribute when the curtain closes behind him and the audience. (I hope it pays) from the audience smiling and clapping their hands in sync. This sound often rewards so much effort and so many bitter pills swallowed earlier, but it cannot and should not be the sole satisfaction of many hucksters. Otherwise, our cultural existence is doomed to fatal extinction, and the only and last survivor of Gigi will be selling ice cream with a cart outside the schools.
