Energy fuel has run out, and communications services have been completely cut off in Gaza

The Palestinian Telecommunications Group and Ooredoo Palestine, two Palestinian telecommunications companies, made separate written statements a day after fuel and power batteries ran out in the area.

The Palestinian Telecommunications Group “Paltel” expressed its “regret to announce the complete interruption of telecommunications services (fixed, cellular and Internet) in the Gaza Strip following the prevention of the entry of fuel and the exhaustion of the reserve energy resources necessary to operate the main network elements.”

On the other hand, Ooredoo reported that it regretfully announces to subscribers the cessation of its services in some areas of the southern and northern Gaza Strip due to running out of fuel.

With the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been besieged for years and suffers from poor conditions, supplies of water, food, medicine, electricity, and fuel to the region have been cut off since October 7, while landline, mobile, and Internet services have been cut off. It often breaks.

Following these outages, the Palestinian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Ishaq Sidr, in a statement on November 1, called on Egypt to activate communication and trading stations near the Gaza Strip.

Cedar explained in a statement dated November 12 that communications services will stop on Thursday, November 16 due to the fuel shortage in the Gaza Strip, which is subject to an Israeli siege and attacks.
