The skills of developers in the Android world are at times overwhelming, especially when it comes to getting hardware to do what it shouldn’t. This week, one team managed to install the new Windows 11 operating system on the OnePlus 6T smartphone.
The Renegade Project team has managed to get Windows 11 to boot on the OnePlus 6T – a lot of the core functionality is up and running.
User edi194 revealed that Windows 11 is loaded and running on OnePlus 6T, which already had Windows 10 for ARM installed:
However, it should be noted that some of the main functions on the smartphone do not work – these are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and speaker. The touchscreen, USB, and even the GPU are partially working.
It’s funny that OnePlus itself is struggling to release Android 11 for the OnePlus 6T, which came out almost a year ago. OnePlus has said that an update to the operating system to version 11 could happen in August, but only in beta status.
