The former NFL star was asked if the sport would attract more of a younger audience. Bush responded that it had been done, thanks in large part to Serena Williams.

Bush said: “We have women like Coco Gauff. Serena Williams is the queen who paved the way for people of color, women of color, to play tennis at a high level, and I guess that’s all you can ask for. You know, someone who sets the standard and continues to raise it. I think Serena sets the standard; young players like Goff take you to the next level. So to me, that’s the kind of sports content I like to see.

When Bush expressed his admiration for Williams, he became one of many stars to praise the 23-time Grand Slam champion. He was joined by another American celebrity who called Serena Williams a “goat”.
