The shots were taken between 2001 and 2021 by Vincent Peters, who uses impeccable lighting to elevate his characters to positions that often transcend their celebrity status.
What Vincent Peters portrays is the world of stars and celebrities, the modern Olympus, which, dissolving in the atmosphere of Italian neo-realist cinema, approaches the public eye, becoming familiar and recognizable. His photographs are fairy tale stories, made up of overlapping layers that interact and complement each other. His work is essentially characterized by layering and difference: each element that converges and condenses in each of his individual shots forms a layer that never loses its individuality and distinction. biography
Vincent Peters was born in Bremen, Germany in 1969 and moved to New York at the age of twenty to work as a photography assistant. Returning to Europe in 1995, he worked in various art galleries and on personal projects, and in 1999 he began his career at the Giovanni Testino agency as a fashion photographer.
Over the years, Peters has specialized in celebrity portraits, filming legendary advertising campaigns for magazines around the world, and is distinguished by his cinematic style.
His portfolio includes work for brands such as Armani, Celine, Hugo Boss, Adidas, Bottega Veneta, Diesel, Dunhill, Guess, Hermes, Lancôme, Luis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Netflix just to name a few. His work has been exhibited in international art galleries including, for example, Camera Work in Berlin, Fotografiska in Stockholm and the prestigious Art Basel in Switzerland.
