However, it seems that the insidious sinister presence surprisingly has already found someone who is able to resist it, namely… Taylor Swift! But let’s go in order.
In the past few hours, the American pop star has announced that concert film, taken from his massive world tour, The Eras Tour, which is currently underway, will be released on big screens in the US in the fall, more precisely, on Friday, October 13th. The date that will make the film-concert and Exorcist: Faithful share fundamental first weekend.
Thursday producer Blumhouse Jason Blume he then ran for cover, announcing on social media that the release Exorcist: Faithful therefore, in American cinemas, it will be transferred to October 6, one week ahead of the originally scheduled date. WITH Exorcist: Faithful Blumhouse will offer a direct sequel to the iconic parent film. ignoring two sequel chapters and prequels filmed in the early 2000s.
In the spirit of the recent success achieved with the franchise halloweenit will also be the first chapter in a trilogy that aims to expand and complete the story that began in 1973.
On this occasion, we will see the return of the ninety-year-old actor to the big screen. Ellen Burstyn as Chris McNeil, a movie star marked by the events that befell his daughter Regan five decades ago. For more information about the plot, we can find out thanks to official synopsis movie which reads:
After the tragic death of his pregnant wife in the Haiti earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (played by Leslie Odom Jr., Tony winner and Oscar nominee for That Night in Miami and Hamilton) single-handedly raised their daughter Angela ( Lydia Jewett, of Good Girls fame. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (the new promise, Olivia Marcum) disappear into the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened, a series of events unfold that will force Victor to confront evil at its most extreme. …dark and horrified and desperate looking for the only living person who has ever witnessed something like this: Chris McNeil.
The film was directed by David Gordon Greenformer director of the final trilogy halloween produced by Bloomhouse. The film adapted an original story written by Scott Tims, Danny McBride and by the director himself, who also edited the script with Peter Sattler. The cast will consist of Ellen Burstyn, Leslie Odom Jr., Lydia Jewett, Olivia Marcum, Ann Dowd, Raphael Sbarge, Norbert Leo Butz AND Jennifer Nettles.
Produced by Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures, the film’s Italian release will remain unchanged and is therefore scheduled for release. October 12, 2023.
