Family of deceased teen protest in front of Paillaco hospital

On October 14, Abraham Álvarez died of hantavirus. A few days ago he went to Paillaco Hospital, was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and was sent home, which to his family meant medical negligence.

After a month away, his family had regained their strength and were determined that such an incident would never happen again, so they marched through the streets of the city in the direction of the hospital.

Abraham Alvarez’s mother, Anyela, declared to the media a few days ago: “At this moment, we are not asking for compensation or any monetary benefits, no, we are asking for the normal operation of the Payaco hospital.” Paiako’s diary.

Banners seen on Saturday showed their dissatisfaction with the medical care received by the young man from Pajakino, who has now died.

One sign read: “Justice for Abraham and all victims of medical malpractice.”

Messages such as “Enough has been neglected” or “We speak out for Abraham” were also carried during the peaceful march this Saturday morning.

Another issue highlighted during the group was the hospital’s fourth shift.

“They have a fourth shift where they can do tests, especially when there are more hantaviruses. We don’t want to waste time going to Valdivia or other places to do tests if there is a laboratory in Paillaco. ” the victim’s mother said a few days ago.

It is worth noting that on October 20, the Los Rios Health Service confirmed to Grupo DiarioSur that Paillaco Hospital has conducted a clinical audit on the relevant nursing processes, and this action is still ongoing.
