February 2, 2024

On November 25, 2023, the UK National Focal Point for International Health Regulations (IHR) notified WHO of a human case of COVID-19 infection Influenza A virus(H1N2) Porcine origin. This is the first case of H1N2 swine flu reported in the UK.

Due to the evolving nature of influenza viruses, WHO continues to emphasize the importance of global surveillance to detect virological, epidemiological and clinical changes related to circulating influenza viruses that may affect human (or animal) health and to share viruses in a timely manner risk assessment.
