VENICE – Journalist Marcello Strano of SNGCI walked the red carpet at the 80th Venice International Film Festival for the premiere of Michel Franco’s competition feature film Memento. He was ahead of the film’s cast of Jessica Chastain, Peter Sarsgaard and Michel Franco on the red carpet. He has been in Lido di Venezia since the beginning of the film festival as a correspondent for the Rome newspaper Paese Roma. For many years he was a member of the virtual media room (press room) of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood, following Oscar Night as a film journalist. Marcello Strano was born in Paterno, province of Catania. Journalist, former editor-in-chief of the Venetian newspaper Il Popolo Veneto, founded in 1921 by the Italian People’s Party of Don Luigi Sturzo. A member of the Order of Journalists, he is involved in science, sports, entertainment, music and film. It is part of the Italian Catholic Press Union (Ucsi), the Italian Sports Press Union (USSI), the Union of Italian Science Journalists (UGIS), the Association of Italian Journalists and Music Critics Associated with Popular Languages (AGIMP). and the National Union of Italian Film Journalists (SNGCI). He has participated in major national and international events such as Sanremo, Taormina, Rome, Venice, Berlin and Cannes.
