Films in Iris Multiplex never end: autumn-winter film forum program

“August is over, autumn is coming, we have time to swim in the sea and return to our winter routine. Which is not so bad, primarily because, being punctual with trains from Switzerland, it is we who will keep you company with our film club»: this is how Umberto Parlagreco launches the autumn-winter review Multiplex Iris From Messina.

Having returned from a busy summer season with film screenings outdoors, in what is now known as the Iris District, the Ganzirri cinema reopens with the first part of the film forum; Also scheduled is The Silent Girl directed by Colm Byread, nominated for the 2022 Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film. The film takes place in 1981 in Ireland. It is an adaptation of Claire Keegan’s short story “Foster” which tells the story of Kate, a 9-year-old girl who spends the summer with two distant relatives.

And if the summer season of the film forum ends tonight with the screening of “I Pioneri” by Luca Scivoletto with Mattia Bonaventura from Messina, then the winter season will begin on September 28, 2023. The show will be shown at 18.00 and 21.00. Here is the first part of the program:

• October 19: “I laugh because I love you“, written, directed and interpreted by Paolo Ruffini;
• October 26: “girlfriend for rentdirected by Gene Stupnicki, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Matthew Broderick;
• November 9: “Quiet girl“, directed by Colm Byread, with Katherine Clinch and Carrie Crowley;
• November 16: “Barbie“, directed by Greta Gerwig, with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling;
• November 23: “Mon Crime“, written and directed by François Ozon, with Nadia Tereshkevich;
• November 30th: “Last movie show“, directed by Pan Nalin, with Bhavin Rabari and Richa Mina;
• December 14: “last moon of september“, directed by Amarsaikhan Baldzhinnyam, starring Amarsaikhan Baldzhinnyam and Tenuun-Erdene Garamkhand.
