Former NBA Countdown host Michelle Beadle is opening up about her departure from the show, and according to her, all roads lead to LeBron James. In 2010, when LeBron James announced he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and joining the Miami Heat, Beadle criticized the “decision.”
Many considered this the beginning of the superteam era, as James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh ultimately brought two championships to South Florida in four seasons in Miami. Beadle, who succeeded Sage Steele as host of “NBA Countdown” on ABC and ESPN, was harshly critical of James’ actions and later found out she would pay the price.
Last year, during an episode of the podcast “The Sessions with Renee Puckett,” Beadle revealed that when James contacted her directly via DM, she said: “I made fun of ‘the decision,’ and I’m one of countless people who have done that. One.’ ” Biddle said.
“It was so funny, I remember I got a DM saying, ‘Why are you so mean to me on TV?’ and I just laughed it off. “I didn’t think about it at all. “
However, James did not laugh.
