Freeform to Produce Three Unscripted Series, One Starring Chrissy Teigen – Deadline

Freeform is adding three unscripted series to its lineup, including two from Hulu.

Chrissy and Dave having dinner at a restaurant And Royal Rules of Ohio will now premiere on Freeform, where they are considered more suitable for an all-female cast; they will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.

Third Sasha Reed and Midnight Orderdocumentary series about Dr. Sasha Reed and her secret society of young women who solve crimes.

Freeform plans to debut more scripted pickups in the coming weeks.

Chrissy and Dave follows Chrissy Teigen and David Chang as they team up with Joel Kim Booster to “take L.A.’s restaurant scene wide open.” While David gets his hands dirty in the back of the house with the restaurant’s chef, Chrissy and Joel will serve the front of the house, creating an always casual, unexpected and entertaining dinner party with undeniably delicious food and interesting conversation.

The show will feature hand-picked celebrities such as Jimmy Kimmel and his wife, writer and producer Molly McNearney. It was written by Dan Cutforth of Alfred Street Industries, Jane Lipsitz, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, Michael Rucker and Sun Heng; Chad Mumm and Mark W. Olsen of Vox Media Studios; David Chang, Dave O’Connor, Chris Yin and Christopher Chen of Majordomo Media; Teigen and Tracy Stevens of Huntley Productions; and Luke Dillon of 3 Arts. The director of the show is Anna Chai.

Royal Rules of Ohio is a documentary series about three Ghanaian sisters in their twenties in Columbus, Ohio. The Agyekum sisters live lustful lives as the daughters of royal descendants of two of Ghana’s richest and most powerful kingdoms. However, with this privilege comes great responsibility. Behind closed doors, viewers will be able to see the double life of the sisters, which could tarnish the noble reputation of their family.

It stars Thelma Agyekum, Nana Agyekum, Brenda Agyekum, Akili Bobo Agyekum and Delali Agyekum. The film is produced by eOne and executive produced by Tara Long, Ben Megargel, Madison Merritt, Kim McCoy, Amy Callahan and Jason Elmore.

Sasha Reed and Midnight Order is a docuseries that follows Reed and her secret society, who share a common obsession—the dark psychology of those who do harm and the desire to protect those who have been ignored by law enforcement. They team up to work outside the system to protect the vulnerable, solve cold cases, and delve into the dark minds of killers using world-class forensics and data skills. Their motto is to be compassionate first, but let the evidence lead the way.

It is directed by Nancy Schwartzman and served as showrunner by Maya Norris. Executive producers are Schwartzman and Norris, along with XTR’s Justin Lacob, Kathleen Flood and Bryn Mooser.
