Gal Gadot Explains How Wonder Woman Led Her To Netflix Big-Budget Action Movie: ‘I Haven’t Seen Enough Yet’

Gal Gadot reveals how Wonder Woman led to Netflix’s ‘Heart of Stone’. Gadot is the lead actress and producer of Netflix’s upcoming action movie, which will release on August 11. She plays an international intelligence officer named Rachel Stone who must stop dangerous enemies from obtaining a mysterious object known as the “Heart”. Also in “Heart of Stone” starred actor Jamie Dornan, known for his roles in “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Once Upon a Time”.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Gadot explained how the success of Wonder Woman helped make Heart of Stone possible. The success of the female hero film has opened many new doors in Hollywood, even outside of the superhero genre. Here is what Gadot had to say about it:

“So many male films have been brilliantly shot, and I always felt there was room for more female-led films. James Bond, Mission: Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Die Hard: I love them and have always wanted to play them. Then I had a moment of enlightenment. I thought, “Wait, men also go to action movies with female characters.” We can do it, so let’s do it.” I found trust and we decided to start developing Heart of Stone.”

Heart of Stone isn’t the first Netflix action movie Gadot has starred in since Wonder Woman. He first did it in “Red Notice” alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. Red Notice has become Netflix’s highest-grossing movie and Gadot will reprise his role from the first Red Notice 2 movie. Prior to Wonder Woman, Gadot was best known for her role as Giselle Yashar in the fast-paced Fast and Furious saga, and she made a surprise comeback in Fast X.

In addition to her action roles, one of Gadot’s most anticipated projects is Disney’s Snow White. Plays the role of the Evil Queen alongside Rachel Zegler as Snow White. Gadot’s choice is part of the updates the Disney remake brings to the classic. In addition to Snow White, a Cleopatra film with Gadot was a subject of great anticipation and controversy. Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman, was supposed to direct Cleopatra, but she gave up and will now only be an executive producer.

Gadot and Jenkins were supposed to reunite for Wonder Woman 3, but the film was canceled due to James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooting the DC Universe. However, Gadot recently stated that Wonder Woman 3 will survive the DCU reboot and that Gunn and Safran remain interested in developing the film. This is surprising given that most of the famous characters from the DC Universe are being remade and remade for the DCU. Between Gal Gadot’s Netflix action movies, Snow White, Cleopatra, the Fast and the Furious saga, and the opportunity to continue playing Wonder Woman, her career shows no signs of slowing down.
