Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman confirmed to appear in Shazam 2 footage.

This article is about a developing story. Keep checking back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Gal Gadot has been confirmed to appear in the Shazam! Fury of the Gods via a brand new TV spot. While a new DC universe is on the way, the DCEU still has a few chapters that will be released in 2023. The first will be Shazam! Fury of the Gods, as Zachary Levi reprises his role as the DC icon. The sequel will see the Shazam Family face the imminent threat of the Daughters of Atlas. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will also be the last film before the DC universe is restored by the movie The Flash. Whether or not there will be a Shazam! 3.

With Shazam! Fury of the Gods just days away, Warner Bros. is still releasing new sneak peeks of the DC movie. An earlier promotion hinted that a certain Justice League hero would make an appearance in this film in some capacity.

However, a surprise has already been revealed ahead of the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. In a new TV spot (via @Hek_th0r), Gadot’s Wonder Woman appears in a clip, confirming her presence in the film.

What will happen after Shazam! 2 for Wonder Woman? Even though Wonder Woman 3 was initially greenlit after Wonder Woman 1984, the studio scrapped it in 2022. With the sequel not fitting into DC Studios’ current plans, Gadot’s future as Wonder Woman hasn’t been decided yet. There is a possibility that Gadot participates in the DC universe. Gunn has indicated that Diana will be a huge part of the DC Universe, but where exactly she is remains to be seen.

While a Wonder Woman movie wasn’t revealed in January, a different lore-related project was announced instead. HBO Max is currently developing a Paradise Lost TV series, which will be a prequel story to Wonder Woman. In the style of Game of Thrones, it focuses on the origins of Themyscira before the birth of Diana. According to Gunn and Safran, Paradise Lost explores the political game on Themyscira.

Right now, Paradise Lost doesn’t have an expected release date for HBO Max since it doesn’t have an established creative team. However, given Wonder Woman’s prominence in DC lore, the show is likely a top priority for DC Studios. Hopefully, as DC Studios gets even closer to their DC Universe plans, it won’t be long before more Wonder Woman projects are announced, especially after Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
