07.31.2023 – The Gigli Opera Festival is receiving many requests for “tickets” for the evening of 2 August, admission to which will be free.
There is great interest in the concert where GOF is dedicating the opening of this year’s exhibition to the artistic duo Beniamino Gigli-Rina Gigli.
“The Gigli Opera Festival,” comments Artistic Director Riccardo Serenelli, “this year wanted to highlight a woman who often seemed to most people an understated personality due to her father’s enormous size, instead, is certainly a figure worthy of more attention for her technical and expressive artistic qualities.
“To be a diva, not just two artists, but a father and a daughter” is the tribute that the GOF offers to the public of music lovers in a story entrusted to the voice of Luca Violini, to the texts of Maestro Riccardo Serenelli, who will be the conductor and pianist for the evening. Together with him to accompany the singers, solo violinist Irene Tella and the quartet FATA, an acronym for Fire, Water, Earth and Air; The group consists of four flutists Lucia Paccamiccio, Marta Montanari, Alessandra Petrini and Elisa Ercoli, who will perform opera arias arranged by Lucia Paccamiccio.
The evening will be enlivened by the famous arias, in which Mikaela Carosi, Patricia Biccire, Anna Delfino and Lilly Jorstad will alternate on stage.
During the concert, a special place will be given to the Gigli Opera Festival Prize (artistic achievement of the students of the Macerata Art School), which this year will be awarded to the sopranos Carosi and Biccire.
Patricia Biccire, soprano from the March, made her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and then sang in the most important theaters in the world, from La Scala in Milan to Covent Garden, from the Teatro Massimo in Palermo to the Theater des Champs Elysées. Fields in Paris with conductors from Riccardo Muti to Sir John Eliot Gardiner, from Sir Antonio Pappano to Daniele Gatti.
Michaela Carosi, star of the most prestigious theaters in the world, from the Metropolitan in New York to La Scala in Milan, from the Bastille in Paris to the Arena in Verona. Abbiati Music Critics Award in 2006 for Best Aida and Best Madama Butterfly.
Returning to the artists who will perform: Anna Delfino, a sophisticated soprano, wins the Tito Skip competition and then makes her debut in L’elisir d’amore, starting a brilliant career. We remember her at the Recanati concert together with the baritone Leo Nucci. Currently he is touring Italy and abroad with the Symphony Orchestra of the Ensemble in the programs “Legend of Morricone” and “Discovery of Morricone”.
Lilli Jorstad is a Russian-Norwegian mezzo-soprano who started singing as a child, won many competitions, participated in the Rossinian Academy in Pesaro, then in the Accademia della Scala, today she sings in the most important theaters in the world. He recently opened the 2022/23 season at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
Special guest Elisa Cordova, Director of the Antonio Skontrino Conservatory in Trapani, with whom the Gigli Opera Festival and the Villa InCanto Association, the organizer of the Recanati event, have signed a cooperation agreement, according to which two singers from Sicily will be invited to the evening. On August 16, dedicated to the production of Puccini’s La bohème, with the now united Format Villa InCanto for 4 soloists, a decimate and a narrator, the Ensemble of the Gigli Opera Festival will be directed by Maestro Riccardo Serenelli, also the author of the texts recited from La bohème.
