Golem launches an application to mine Ethereum on the laptop … but it is difficult to make a profit
The Golem Network has launched an app that allows users to mine Ether (ETH) on their laptops, but it could be a long time before profits can be reaped.
The decentralized computing resource sharing platform has released the Thorg app, which enables users to mine Ether on Windows PCs and laptops.

The application runs in the background and takes advantage of unused computing power to process the calculations required for proof-of-work mining. However, users are rewarded with Golem’s native GLM token, and not ETH.
