More than three months after the new authorities took office, the national government announced that in an effort to “reduce complications, hospitalizations, sequelae, and deaths caused by influenza virus infection among high-risk groups,” the national Ministry of Health has launched a nationwide influenza vaccination campaign.
Therefore, as detailed in the National Education Portfolio, vaccines are available across the country through vaccination centers in each jurisdiction. They emphasized: “The vaccine is free for the target group, does not require a doctor’s prescription, and is now available throughout the country.”
Likewise, it can be used with any other vaccine on the national calendar. “It is important that everyone who goes to a vaccination centre, health center or public hospital brings with him his vaccination card and the vaccination cards of his children so that they can be inspected by the health team,” the national authority recalled.
In addition, the National Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of prompt vaccination, “preferably before the beginning of winter, when the influenza virus spreads most severely.” However, influenza vaccination will continue to be administered “based on viral transmission,” based on national, regional and local epidemiological conditions.
“Influenza, or influenza, is a highly transmissible respiratory viral illness. Typically, most people recover within one to two weeks. However, in extreme cases, pregnant women, and people with risk factors, it can cause severe complications and even death,” they warned.
This event targets the following groups:
*Health workers, people aged 9 to 64 years (including those with risk factors), and people 65 years or older need to receive an annual dose.
*Individuals with risk factors 6 to 24 months and 2 to 8 years (inclusive) must receive two doses of the vaccine, at least four weeks apart, unless they have received two doses previously. In the latter case, single doses correspond to them.
*Pregnant women should get the flu vaccine at any time during pregnancy.
*Mothers must be vaccinated against influenza before leaving the maternity hospital, or up to ten days postpartum if not vaccinated during pregnancy.
*The following are considered risk factors: obesity, diabetes, chronic respiratory and heart disease, congenital or acquired immune deficiencies, oncohematological disorders, transplant and/or dialysis patients with chronic renal failure, etc.
