One of the new features this year is the recommendation that children aged 6 to 59 months and smokers get the flu vaccine. Vaccination is also recommended for pregnant women in any trimester of pregnancy, women who have recently given birth but were not vaccinated during pregnancy and within six months postpartum, and people who live with immunosuppressed patients. It is also recommended for workers in health and social care centers and workers in essential public services.
Vaccinations are starting today at nursing homes and centers for people with disabilities in the province.
This year’s campaign aims to fundamentally protect the most vulnerable groups, achieving a coverage rate of 75% for those over 60 years old, and a coverage rate of 60% for pregnant women and other high-risk groups.
To carry out this campaign, recruitment will be active through primary care centers and appointments can also be made through the Sescam app or at the centralized vaccination center planned by Integrated Care Management in the exhibition building. ground. Another innovation this year is the procurement across the region of 40,000 doses of the new intranasal vaccine, which is administered by inhalation and is suitable for children aged 2 years to 59 months, to protect minors and vulnerable people in your environment.
