Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will mark the end of the trilogy directed by James Gunn. Chris Pratt, however, has confessed that he wants to return as Star-Lord in other projects as well, revealing – without spoilers – the potential fate of the hero.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will sanction the end of the trilogy directed by James Gunn – who became the co-CEO of DC Studios, alongside Peter Safran – but it might not be the last we see the members of the bizarre superhero team on screen. In recent days, Chris Pratt has in fact revealed some anticipation of his future in the Marvel world, stating – without spoilers on the upcoming film – that would be thrilled to be able to return as Peter Quill\Star-Lord.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 – Chris Pratt talks about the possibility of returning to the MCU

Interviewed by Rolling Stone, Chris Pratt returned to talk about his role in the Marvel world and the epilogue of the trilogy that began in 2014. The actor, in particular, let himself go some speculation about Star-Lord’s future and expressed a desire to return as the hero. At the same time, however, he also emphasized that his hypotheses have nothing to do with what will happen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 but which contemplate every possible narrative scenario:

There are ways people come back after they die (maybe an allusion to the Multiverse?). That said, I don’t think I’m done with the role, but we shouldn’t go into spoiler territory. I don’t want to be in a situation like, “Oh well, Chris Pratt said Peter Quill isn’t going to die. That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is, if i die in this movie, there is a way to bring me back. So if we’re talking about the possibility of Peter Quill going back, the answer will always be yes. If you are asking me if I, Chris Pratt, want to reprise my role as Peter Quill and if there is still some way to go for the character, and if I have the ability or the will to do it… The answer is anyway Yes. I would be interested in playing the character again.

The fate of Stard-Lord, therefore, still appears uncertain. After the abandonment of James Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy team – or at least some of its members – could in fact appear in some other Marvel project – the most probable hypotheses are the crossovers The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty And The Avengers: Secret Wars. From the trailer and the official synopsis of the cinecomic, however, it is clear that “it will be the end of the team as we know it”, anticipating the – probable – death of some of the heroes. So all that remains is to wait for more updates. In the meantime, Chris Pratt will be in theaters, along with the rest of the cast – consisting of Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillian, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji – from May 3rdin Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.
