James Gunn he will say goodbye to his Guardians of the Galaxy with Vol. 3 and explained how this third (and probably final) chapter will differ from the previous ones. The director concluded his parenthesis at home Marvel and prepares for a new adventure, as CEO, at DC. The Guardians of the Galaxy had a lot of adventures in the previous one Infinity Saga of the Marvel universe and made an important contribution in the fight against Thanos. But what makes this third chapter particularly different, according to James Gunn, are the emotions. Peter Quillfor example, is the character assigned to Chris Pratt and, despite not having grown up on Earth, he is the most human of all, extremely vulnerable, full of flaws and emotions, with which he will have to deal with in the third film of the trilogy. In a recent interview with muddlingJames Gunn tried to explain how this latest chapter for the galaxy will be different from the previous ones and why:
We think of Vol. 1 as focusing on the mother, Vol. 2 instead on the father. Vol. 3 is about yourself and coming to terms with each of these situations. In the first film, Peter Quill comes to terms with his relationship with his mother, who is the person he loved the most in the world. In the second film, however, he works on the relationship with his father. What he thought he wanted wasn’t what he really wanted. And what he had was better than what he thought it was. Peter’s dad issues were pretty obvious from the get-go, and since he’s had his moments with both Ego and Yondu, he feels like he’s finally ready to move on. The third is about self-acceptance. Who are we really? And how do we feel about ourselves? Mantis even says it once in the movie: Most of them don’t like each other very much. Everyone has problems with themselves. Nebula has problems with herself. Peter Quill has problems with himself. Mantis, Kraglin – they all do it. And Rocket above all. So I think that’s what this movie is about, above and beyond anything else.
According to James Gunn, the real challenge of this third film for the Guardians is “coming to accept themselves”. The cast raises once again Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel And Bradley Cooper for one last adventure in the galaxy with the Marvel team.
