Bad breath can be caused by certain foods, such as garlic and onions, or any food that is absorbed into the bloodstream, as it has the potential to affect breathing before the food leaves the body.

If bad breath is caused by poor oral care, you need to see a dentist. Even if it’s caused by gum disease, diagnosis and treatment of the existing health condition may eliminate bad breath if it’s caused by a medical condition.
However, bad breath can be easily prevented by changing your habits and oral habits. Brush and floss twice a day, and be sure to brush your tongue, cheeks, and roof of your mouth. Focusing on the tongue, as it’s where most bad breath bacteria reside, can make a big difference.
For smokers, quitting smoking can lead to better breath and a healthier body. If you have dentures, take them out at night and clean them thoroughly before putting them back in your mouth.
Then, eat healthy foods that you can chew and keep your saliva flowing. It’s also important to visit your dentist regularly for checkups.
