American actor Harrison Ford has arrived in Sicily for the filming of the fifth production of the “Indiana Jones” saga, which will take place in some of the most picturesque and ancient places on the Italian island, informs EFE on Friday, quoted by Agerpres.
The 79-year-old actor arrived at Catania airport on Thursday afternoon, his managers confirmed: “Yes, it’s Indiana Jones! It was a great honor to meet him in Sicily,” they wrote on social media. the message being accompanied by several photos.
The most famous archaeologist on the big screens embarks on his fifth adventure in Sicily, and the first stop takes place in the ancient site of Syracuse, in the Greek amphitheater or in the “Ear of Dionysus”, an artificial cave with an interesting echo.
However, it will be present in other places in Sicily, such as the labyrinthine island of Ortigia, the city of Trapani, San Vito Lo Capo or Cefalu, a city located between the sea and a huge rocky promontory.
The new production, in which James Mangold, the director of “The Wolverine” (2013) or “Logan” (2017) will replace Steven Spielberg, is expected in July 2022 and will include Antonio Banderas in the cast.
