Harry Potter sequel gets positive response from original cast: ‘That would be fun’

Bonnie Wright, the actress who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, thinks Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be interesting, but admits the actors’ original roles won’t make much of a difference. The Cursed Child play focuses on a new generation of characters, including Albus, son of Harry and Ginny, and Scorpius, son of Draco Malfoy, during their time at Hogwarts. While there has been interest in The Cursed Child and some key figures such as director Chris Columbus have expressed enthusiasm, with no commitment from Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry, there are currently no plans for an adaptation.

Bonnie Wright is the latest Harry Potter star to comment on a possible Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie. The English actress starred in the J.K. Rowling series of films as Ginny Weasley, Ron’s younger sister, who transforms from a shy Hogwarts student into a powerful witch who gets involved in the fight against Voldemort and also develops a love affair with Harry. After the end of the series, there was interest in a film adaptation of the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as it would reunite many of the original cast members.

During an appearance on the Inside of You podcast hosted by Michael Rosenbaum, Wright shared his thoughts on a possible Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie. The actress says it would be a lot of fun, also noting that the roles of the original cast won’t be as big, although she doesn’t know if a movie adaptation will actually be made. Here are his full words:

The biggest question everyone wants to know is if they’re going to make a TV version or a movie version. I don’t know. That would be pretty funny, because it’s actually about children. It’s not about our characters, so it’s not going to be a big role. In fact, it will be about these children and the new generation. It would be fun, but I have no idea if they would.

Since the series appears to have ended in 2011, there is a lot of interest in the Cursed Child movie as it will reunite the original cast including Daniel Radcliffe’s Golden Trio, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry. Hermione and Ron. However, Wright is correct in noting that their roles won’t be all that big. The play, written by Rowling, takes place nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and focuses primarily on Albus, son of Harry and Ginny, and Scorpius, son of Draco, during their time travel during their first year at Hogwarts .

Chris Columbus, who directed two Harry Potter films, was one of the first to express interest in The Cursed Child, saying that the return of the original trio would be a “cinematic ecstasy” equivalent to the return of legendary Star Wars characters in The Force Awakens. . . Unfortunately, Radcliffe dismissed the Cursed Child film idea, stating that it’s not something he’s interested in doing now, but that it might be possible in the future. Radcliffe is a required character for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, so there are currently no specific adaptation plans without the actor’s consent.
