Haunted House trailer for Disney horror comedy that mixes goosebumps with laughter

The story (between chills and laughter) of a mother and son who entrusted themselves to a group of spirit experts.

ghost house tells the story of a woman and her son who find themselves in a haunted house. To ward off these supernatural aliens, they will rely on a group of so-called spiritual experts to help them rid the home of the ghosts.
The story, in more detail, is that of a doctor, played by Rosario Dawson, and her nine-year-old son (played by a very young Chase Dillon). Mother and son are trying to start a new life, so they move into a mansion in New Orleans, the house is surprisingly cheap. They learn that a terrible secret lies behind the affordable price … Desperate for a ridiculous situation from which they really do not know how to get out, they decide to turn to a priest (played by Owen Wilson), who in turn will ask for help from a widowed scientist, turned paranormal expert (Lakeith Stanfield), a French psychic (Tiffany Haddish), and a very grumpy historian (Danny DeVito). In short, all the prerequisites for a film that hits the box office are somewhere between comedy and horror (a mix that has always proved successful).

Director Justin Simien is directing an all-star cast including Lakeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Dan Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghosts.

The film is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

Thus, the film has not one goal, but three: on the one hand, it wants to scare the hell out of it, on the other hand, it wants to entertain the hell out of it, and also to offer an adventure that is somehow otherworldly.

The ghost of the hatbox will not leave you indifferent

The Hatbox Ghost, an animatronic character that originally appeared in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion, was removed shortly after the ride’s debut in 1969. Originally located in the attic of a carousel house, the figure is described as “an elderly ghost (male) in a cape and top hat, leaning on a cane, one hand trembles, and a hatbox is squeezed in the other. The character was added back to the attraction in 2015.

“I can say that this is something amazing: the character is partly created thanks to the digital, and in fact, no one knows who is behind him until he is told,” said the director of the film. “We wanted to work on something really scary that you could feel in the real world. Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the most famous scream queens in history, is part of the cast. He commented on the film: “It’s a good mix, something quite funny. For me, it’s a modern, fresh story, it has a lot of humor and a little bit of fear, it has ghosts and all that.”
