Health operation “Promoting healthy and secure borders of Mercosur” ends in Puerto Iguazu

The week of updating the vaccine calendar for the border cities of Mercosur, the “Vaccines unite us” initiative run by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Mercosur countries, ended yesterday. Puerto Iguazú and Concordia (Entre Ríos) are the two cities representing Argentina in the health action.

A total of 4,771 vaccine doses were administered in Puerto Iguazu between October 2 and 11, concluding the Operation “Promoting Healthy and Safe Borders of Mercosur”.

Vaccinators from planning areas with incomplete vaccination programs focusing specifically on measles, polio, and yellow fever.

Of the 4,771 doses of vaccine administered, 494 were against triple virus (measles, rubella and mumps), 396 against IPV (poliomyelitis types 1, 2 and 3) and 845 against yellow fever (yellow fever) . In addition, 683 doses of influenza vaccine, 294 doses of chickenpox vaccine, 281 doses of HPV vaccine, 267 doses of meningococcal vaccine, 227 doses of pentavalent vaccine, 219 doses of hepatitis B vaccine, 198 doses of meningococcal vaccine, 13 doses, 181 doses of triple bacterial vaccine, 162 doses of triple bacterial acellular vaccine, 152 doses of hepatitis A vaccine, 190 doses of bibacterial vaccine, 106 doses of meningococcal vaccine, 60 doses of rotavirus vaccine and 16 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
