Health Minister Francisco Alabí has warned that the flu has such an “aggressive” behavior on the elderly that they now face a similar risk of dying from Covid-19.

Influenza is a viral infection that can be fatal if left untreated and can lead to pneumonia.
As of mid-August, authorities had recorded 440 deaths from complications of the disease. It is worth noting that 70 cases of influenza B were reported during the same period, which was not seen in the same period last year.
Infectious disease physicians have reported an increase in flu cases in the region.
