Healthy Childhood Project Launched – Plaza de Armas

San Juan del Rio – Georgina Sánchez Barrios, president of the Municipal DIF System, announced that the agency launched the Healthy Children Care Program in the city, which includes free medical consultations and medications to minor beneficiaries.

Accompanied by her husband, Valencia Mayor Roberto Cabrera, she explained that the plan includes free medical consultations and medicines. Beneficiaries will receive P2,000 for laboratory research support if they need it.

He noted that at this stage the program will apply to the Child Development Assistance Center (CADI), the Bätsi Children’s Home and the Attorney General’s Office; thus, 150 girls and boys will benefit.

He added that the program will also be implemented at the Chiquitzin day care center and will cover diseases such as the common cold, allergies, viral and intestinal infections, malnutrition, fungal infections, as well as monitoring of healthy children and support from health institutions. Opening hours are 8 am to 1:30 pm.

“To identify the beneficiary children, we will give them a card with a photo of the child and the person in charge. (…) Each beneficiary will have a document and a record of their medical follow-up. The donated medicines will be diagnosed by doctors This is the basic form specified by the National Health Commission.”

He announced that in the second phase of the plan, there are plans to build alliances with schools, community presidents and representatives, carry out body shape and weight checks and open medical services to children in San Juan del City. Río., for a healthier childhood.

Mayor Roberto Cabrera thanked citizens for their trust in municipal institutions that care for San Juan’s children. He added that children and families are the ones who support the city, so, he noted, they need attention.
