After passing a certain age or breaking certain records, most NBA players choose to retire or reduce their role if they continue to play the sport. However, that’s not the case with LeBron James.
LeBron James turns 39 next month, and it seems he has no plans to stop breaking records. Speaking of records, here are the three records the All-Star is most likely to break during the 2023-24 NBA season:
1. The player with the most assists, rebounds and points among 39-year-old players
In the 2022 season, LeBron James enters his 20th year in the NBA, averaging 6.8 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 28.9 points per game. By comparison, Michael Jordan averaged 3.9 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 20 points per game at age 39. At the same age, Karl Malone averaged 4.7 assists, 7.8 rebounds and 20.6 points per game.
LeBron James will turn 39 this December, and if the small forward continues to perform well with the Lakers, he will have enough points to surpass the productivity of Michael Jordan and Karl Malone at the same age. The same is true below.

If LeBron can finish the season with more assists, rebounds and points, he will soon become the only NBA record holder for assists, rebounds and points per game. Furthermore, if the 19-time All-Star does break this record, he will hold it for a long time.
2. Maximum number of shots
Last season, the All-Star forward became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. LeBron is on the verge of breaking another record: the most field goal attempts by the only player in the NBA. As of November 8, LeBron ranked second with 28,167 points.
The first place is Abdul-Jabbar, with a score of 28,307 points. LeBron is only 140 points away from breaking Abdul’s record. However, the Lakers’ star player can only break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record if he is injury-free next season. However, this is the second record LeBron has broken in the 2023-24 season.

3. Most two-point attempts in the playoffs
LeBron James has played as many minutes as Abdul-Jabbar so far. Being in the sport for so long has helped LeBron achieve countless accomplishments and accomplishments. So far, LeBron has appeared in the playoffs a total of 16 times in the 21 years he has spent in the NBA.

The player with the most two-pointers is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, with a total of 4,418 points. Now, if we look at the gap, it’s only 10 points. Therefore, there is a good chance that LeBron will soon break Abdul-Jabbar’s record and become the only player in NBA history with the most two-point field goal attempts.
