Instagram post mentioning the Hulu series Only murders in the building has been removed from the user profile Selena Gomezsinger and actress starring in the series, after many fans accused her of violating the rules of the Sag-Aftra American writers and actors strike.
The post, which received over 1.1 million likes in the 15 hours before it was removed from the profile, contained a video of Gomez filmed on the set of the comedy series. The caption mentions the official Instagram account. Only murders in the building and the sentence: “Lack and desire.”

Sag-Aftra strike rules prohibit members from advertising their work through press interviews or social media posts during a strike. In the video on set, Gomez didn’t say anything or encourage subscribers to watch the series, but she tagged the official account Only murders in the building. This led followers to speculate that the video was filmed on the set of a Hulu series.
Whether this is against the rules or not has been the subject of controversy. Many of Gomez’s followers accused her of boycotting the strike, with one follower calling the post “insensitive” about it.

Only murders in the building is currently streaming its third season on Hulu (in Italy on Disney+). Gomez plays next to you Steve Martin AND Martin Short as Mabel Maura, a young artist with a knack for investigating murders in New York. Gomez has been a regular cast member since the first pilot episode aired. The third season of the show started on August 8 and will run on Hulu until October 3.
