The manufacturer Huawei should announce in 2020 the HarmonyOS 2.0, the first major update of the operating system developed by the company itself. The information is not yet official, but it has been circulating on the Chinese social network Weibo accompanied by images of the support of the new version.
De acordo com as postagens, o Harmony OS 2.0 (chamado de HongMeng OS na China) será compatível com smartwatches, PCs e tablets, além de dispositivos que já suportam a plataforma, como televisores.
The most awaited version, however, should be left out. The HarmonyOS 2.0 for mobile phones should be only for a later version of the platform, probably be announced only in 2021. Meanwhile, Huawei’s smartphones should continue with the open-source version of Android that does not allow the use of ecosystem applications US American, betting on homemade alternatives for services and tools.
Huawei is currently one of the world’s largest manufacturers of smartphones, mainly due to the growth in the Chinese market. However, the prohibitions of the United States government continue and are forcing the company to invest in alternatives for old commercial ties, which even involves the manufacture of processors.
If it does exist, the confirmation of HarmonyOS 2.0 will take place during the Huawei Developer Conference 2020, an event confirmed to take place in China between the 10th and 12th of September.
