British singer and actor Harry Styles became the main character of the December issue of American Vogue.
The 26-year-old musician became the first male solo cover in the 128-year history of the American Fashion Bible.
In a new photoshoot by American photographer Tyler Mitchell, Styles appeared in original looks. He posed in a Maison Margiela trench coat, a Martine Rose coat, a Comme des Garçons blazer, and a JW Anderson plaid coat.
However, the most talked-about was the feminine images in which Styles appeared in the new photoset. The singer appeared on the pages of gloss in a full skirt with a belt from Chopova Lowena, as well as a dress from Gucci and a plaid skirt from Wales Bonner.
In one of the frames, the artist also posed with his older sister Gemma Styles.
The photo session was filmed in East Sussex, the UK at Seven Sisters Nature Park.
In an interview, the singer told why he decided to try on women’s clothes for a photoshoot. Styles admitted that he has always been a fan of women’s outfits:
“Sometimes I go to a store and realize that I admire women’s clothes – they are incredible. It is always like this in life: by building all kinds of barriers, you end up limiting only yourself, ”he noted.
Styles also stated that his extraordinary stage style was inspired by icons of the past:
“The people I look up to — Prince and David Bowie, Elvis, Freddie Mercury, and Elton John — are incredible showmen. Watching them as a child was simply breathtaking. Now, if I wear something flashy, I won’t feel crazy about it. I think if you find something that makes you feel amazing, it could be your superhero costume, ”he says.
