British actress Tilda Swinton spoke about her gender identity in an interview with British Vogue.
The 60-year-old actress starred in a new photoshoot in outfits from the spring-summer collection of the Chanel fashion house. The author of the photo session was Nikolai von Bismarck, who filmed Swinton in her homeland, among the hills of the Scottish Highlands.
In addition to new shots, an interview with the actress appeared in the February issue of the magazine, in which she touches on the topic of gender identity. Swinton admitted that she always felt like a queer – a person who does not fit into the framework of only one sexual and gender identity.
“It’s pretty obvious to me that queer has something to do with sensitivity in my case. I’ve always felt like a queer. I was always in search of some kind of queer circus of my own, and I found it. And having discovered this, I realized that this is my world, “- said the actress.
In an interview with British Vogue, Swinton also spoke about her lack of ambition:
“As an artist, I never had any ambitions. It may sound crazy and transgressive, but it is a fact. If you asked me about this when I was 10 or 20 years old, I would say that my only ambitions were to live with a family, have friends who made me laugh and laugh at my jokes, and live in the highlands of Scotland with many dogs and a vegetable garden. Seriously. And I was lucky that I was able to achieve my desires. Everything else is a bonus. Everything else is just icing, candles and flowers nearby, ”she says.
Note that for more than 16 years Swinton has been in a relationship with New Zealand artist Sandro Kopp. The actress has two children from ex-lover, artist, and playwright John Patrick Byrne – 23-year-old twins son Xavier and daughter Honor.
