“I feel too fragile to have one”

In the era in which social networks have now become a fundamental part of our daily lives, there are those who stay away from them, such as Scarlett Johansson. In fact, the actress is one of the few faces in Hollywood who doesn’t have any official social media channels and, during a recent interview, she finally wanted to explain the reasons that led her to this choice.

To the microphones of the podcast The Skinny Confidential Him & HerScarlett Johansson has revealed that her absence from social media has a lot to do with her ego, a little too “fragile”: “Honestly, I feel too fragile to have a social network. My ego is very fragile and I can’t stand it. I feel like a delicate flower and am a very anxious person. I had tried using Instagram in the past, I was on the platform at least once every three days, then I decided to delete it. When I started to realize that I was spending 20 minutes of my time looking at the Instagram page of another person who had worked for a friend of mine, I realized I was wasting precious minutes. I was like, ‘Ok now I know you have a pit bull, two daughters and you live in Burbank, so what? I just wasted 17 minutes of my life’”.

However, the actress stressed that she really likes using TikTok, a platform she uses to create video content to promote The Outsether skincare brand. “TikTok is definitely fun. Every time I see it being used in our office, I become like a three-year-old holding her mom’s cell phone and getting engrossed in it. That’s why I can’t create a profile”
