“When Greta did the adaptation, I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of it, and I was very persistent with her about it too,” Ronan told Stephen Colbert in 2019 while promoting her film.
The actor eventually managed to convince Greta Gerwig to cast her, and the adaptation became an instant cult classic, receiving rave reviews and a box office gross of $218.8 million.

“I kind of grew up with this novel and instinctively knew this character,” the Atonement actress explained to Stephen Colbert about her fascination with the story.
