What then, as you know, happened for Oppenheimer. This curious circumstance was revealed by Damon himself during one of his speeches at EW at the table.
“I know this is going to sound like a made up story, but it’s true.”– said the actor. “Without going into details, I made an extensive agreement with my wife that I would take a vacation.”. Damon later recalled that he had already worked with Nolan in Interstellarstating that the director had “frozen” his possible presence in a number of films.
“In couples therapy, we really achieved this goal.”the actor continued “And I assure you this is a true story, the only exception to the promise of my breakup was a possible call from Chris Nolan. And it’s not knowing if he worked on something or not, because he never tells you. That’s what he called you. And so in my family life it was a complete surprise.”.
IN OppenheimerMatt Damon plays Leslie Groves, the general in charge of the Manhattan Project. The rest of the cast of Christopher Nolan’s film includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh, among others. The film will be released in theaters on August 23rd.
