The annual Enfoires show is in the box. And this year again, Jean-Jacques Goldman was not there. This great absentee was nevertheless very present for the members of the troop …
The organizers weren’t sure how they were going to do this show, but they knew they would! This is what Sophie Bazou, head of the Enfoires within the Restos du Coeur, told Télé Star this week. From January 14 to 17 at the Halle Tony-Garnier in Lyon, the collective found itself on stage, without an audience, and recorded a “unique” concert which will be broadcast on TF1 next March.
“I want pancakes and I want Jean-Jacques Goldman!”
And while the troop received this year new ones – Vianney and Kev Adams – and old ones – Carla Bruni – it was the fifth consecutive year without Jean-Jacques Goldman. The singer of “I walk alone” may be absent, he was nevertheless present in the hearts of the Enfoires, as Sophie Bazou assures our colleagues. The latter thus reveals an anecdote that says it all. “We had a pancake party during the recording and Patrick Fiori arrived shouting: ‘I want pancakes and I want Jean-Jacques Goldman!’ He is still present even if he is no longer there “she said.
About the one who retired from artistic activity in 2016 and left France for London, the manager assures that it is out of the question to disturb him. And to estimate: “It’s not as if he had done nothing for Restaurants for 30 years. If he wants to retire, that respects himself. There is no forcing”.
Especially since Jean-Jacques Goldman is always mobilized, behind the scenes, to help the troop. A few weeks ago, before the recording of the 2021 show, France Sunday assured that the godfather could not “remain frozen in the face of (de) sad circumstances”. He would have thus moved “heaven and earth” and found with his friend Anne Marcassus, the boss of the Enfoires (and friend of Laeticia Hallyday), “a new concept”, to allow the troop not to lose money with the pandemic.
Call for massive donation
Because this year more than ever, Les Restos du Coeur is counting on donations from the general public. Due to the Covid-19 health crisis, the demand for meals is growing in France, and on the side of the Enfoires, raising funds has not been an easy task. Deprived of touring and ticket sales, the collective relies heavily on future record and DVD sales.
